Eye Examinations

Yearly vision exams are an important part of preventative health care

Many eye health problems do not have obvious signs or symptoms. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye health issues are important to maintain good eye health. Our examinations give you a complete health check of your eyes including eye pressures, screening visual fields, a microscopic evaluation of the front of the eye, fundus photography and dilated exam of the back of the eye.

Our examinations will evaluate for many eye conditions such as:

  • Cataract diagnosis and co-management
  • Glaucoma diagnosis and care
  • Macular Degeneration diagnosis and co-management
  • Diabetic Eye Health
  • Allergy Eye Health and Treatment
  • Removal of foreign bodies from the eye
  • Treatment of eye injuries
  • Treatment of eye diseases and infections

Eye Examinations for Children

We recommend annual exams beginning at infancy. Early identification of a child’s vision problem can be crucial because children often are more responsive to treatment when they are diagnosed early. According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at six months of age.

Your child’s exam is important to detect the possible presence of these types of eye problems commonly found in young children:

  • Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)
  • Strabismus (Misalignment of eyes)
  • Convergence Insufficiency (Inability to maintain alignment of both eyes for correct focus as distant objects move nearer)
  • Accommodation (Focusing), Color Vision, and/or Depth Perception problems
  • General Eye and Eyelid Health
